School? Whazzat?

Of late, school seems to be taking a backburner in our schedule.
I homeschool, if you haven't figured that out ;-)

Take today, for instance.

I did: one page of math, half a Spanish lesson, and my piano lesson. Three subjects! That's not enough! I can hear E (our teacher who officially says "You've passed the grade") shaking her head at us now!

Well, I'm off to my Hebrew class, then to do some more actual school. Wish me luck!

Gardening 2008, part 1

Today was an important day!
*rocks back and fourth on balls of feet*
Do you wanna know why?

WE PLANTED TREES!
It was awesome, if I do say so myself.

Squeak, watering our mango plant after planting

Dad, looking serious while digging a hold for our mango
Squeak, mulching our jabuticaba

I believe Mom was giving a very command here...

"Mia! Stop taking pictures of me and work!"

"Never mind, I'm happy being the center of attention!"

Just LOOK at those dirty socks!

My dad, from my vantage point of the ground.

I guess while lying on the ground, I looked dead and captured the interest of some resident turkey vultures!

Star, our resident vacuum/mop/puppy, eating some dirt

The Strange Moth Who Came to Visit

It all started out as a normal day...
The sun was shining...
The pre-Floridian winter was almost upon us; it was only 89 degrees...

I opened the door...
And he flew in:

You probably can't tell, but he was the size of my palm. And he was shaped like an airplane!

It's a happy day...

...because I finally update my blog!

Actually, I'm just starting a new one because my old one made me cringe.

So much has happened during the past nine months, I'm going to make a list of the top five biggest events (or at least, most important to me) :

1) My beloved guinea pig died.

2) We adopted two guinea pigs (one of which was pregnant, so I've got FOUR piggies now (and am EXTREAMLY happy about that).
3) I became an artist--one of drama, the visual arts, and music. Nobody can bring me DOOOOWN!

4) My uncle and now-aunt got married!

5) My family is closer than ever!

The grandpiggies! Aren't they precious?

Oh, and I live with things like him,

And him,

And I do things like,

What else can I say? I LOVE MY LIFE!
